The Joys of Auntiehood

1. the state of being an aunt
2. the qualities or spirit of an auntie
3. aunties collectively
Like Motherhood, Auntiehood is an important role that women play in Families. She adds a layer of support for Mom (and Dad) and an extra set of hands when needed. She adds a layer of love the children.
Auntie adds more connection, more love and more fun to families everyday.
I believe the African proverb: It takes a Village to raise a Child.
Auntie is part of that village from across the street or across the country. She can be an Auntie by Relation or an Auntie by Choice.
Sometimes auntiehood is 1 of many hats a women wears. Sometimes it is the hat that fits the best. It is so much fun to share time and love with your nieces and nephews.
